Sometimes love finds you when you least expect it. Especially since both of us were not looking for a relationship, it was really unlikely for us to start dating late 2018, even celebrating our first Christmas and New Year together, truly happy holidays.
Not much later John travelled all the way to Cirebon, Jessie’s home town, for the first time. Scared he might get lost en route, a personal guide was arranged to secure safe passage to Gambir Stasion. Spending time with her schoolmates was the cherry on the cake, and deepened our understanding for each other.
November 2022
Who could have guessed that when we kissed each other goodbye on a Sunday afternoon in February 2020, just after celebrating a memorable Valentine’s Day, this routine feeling of a long distance couple would take an unexpected, challenging turn. Goodbye my lop, see you soon! At least that’s what we thought…COVID had other plans for us in store.
Fast forward two horribly difficult years of longing and yearning for each other, and we were finally reunited!! What an elated and gloriously happy feeling it was - despite all adversity, a true testament to how strong we had grown to be in our love and loyalty, always stronger together but equally unbeatable apart!

2022 was our year, no doubt! Jessie’s first time in Germany to meet John’s loved ones, gestures of commitment and promise to a future we knew was already being forged and bound to happen - only question was when?
Surprising Jessie is nothing short of an art. She has a 6th sense for anticipating anything ’fishy’. But four years after starting to date, Jessie did not see this one coming in KL, at all! The staycation, rooftop dinner, red roses and a very nervous John didn’t give away that the mother of questions was about to be popped: ‘Beb, will you marry me?’ John got his hoped for positive response, but to this day he’s unsure in which language actually

Love is all about respecting each other’s dreams in life and turning those into special moments you will cherish a lifetime. Our wedding was moved to 2025, so John could fulfil his childhood dream of visiting the Olympics. Of all places, fittingly it was Paris, la cité de l’amour, well worth the wait - makasih my lop!
And here we are now, eagerly counting down the days until we can finally celebrate our special moment with all of you! We met on a 7th, got engaged on a 17th, and the 27th of July will be our nod to the universe, we got the message, time to tie the knot ❤️
