Story
Pertemuan
Kami bertemu pada tahun 2014 di acara masa perkenalan mahasiswa baru Nommensen. Pada saat itu kami duduk bersampingan dan menjadi awal kami saling berkenalan.
Pendekatan
Kami semakin dekat satu sama lain di tahun 2016. Kami sering menghabiskan waktu bersama untuk bertukar cerita, hunting makanan, dan sesekali mengerjakan tugas bersama. Seiring berjalannya waktu, perasaan nyaman itu berubah menjadi rasa sayang dan cinta yang tidak terduga.
Menjalin Hubungan
Memutuskan untuk menjalin hubungan lebih dari seorang teman adalah bagian dari perjalanan kisah kami. Berpacaran selama 8 tahun bukanlah waktu yang singkat, tentu saja banyak permasalahan yang menghadang. Namun, dengan komitmen yang kuat dan pertolongan Tuhan yang luar biasa kami berhasil melewati tahun demi tahun.
Perpisahan
Waktu pernah memisahkan kami begitu lama. Kami selalu berada di kota yang berbeda, itu semua dimulai dari Medan-Pematangsiantar, Jakarta-Medan, Aceh-Medan, Tebing Tinggi-Medan dan yang paling lama 2,5 tahun berpisah antara Indonesia dan Taiwan. Saat itu, pada tanggal 30 September 2020 dia (Engelica) harus meninggalkan Indonesia karena harus melanjutkan studi S2nya di negeri Formosa dan pada masa inilah hubungan kami diuji begitu berat. Banyak hal yang ingin membuat kami berpisah, tetapi komitmen yang selalu mempersatukan kami kembali.
Menikah
Tahun 2025 menjadi langkah baru bagi kami untuk membina bahtera rumah tangga. Dengan keyakinan dan kepercayaan bahwa inilah takdir yang Tuhan anugerahkan. Kami sepakat untuk mengikat janji suci dalam biduk pernikahan. Sunaryo dan Engelica adalah dua insan yang Tuhan kasihi dan tolong dengan begitu luarbiasanya. Kiranya Tuhan selalu memberkati kami.
First Meeting
We first met in 2014, that was an unforgettable moment during the freshman orientation event at HKBP Nommensen University. Fate placed us side by side, a wonderful meeting that became the beginning of a long and meaningful journey. That was where our acquaintance first began to grow.
Getting Closer
The year 2016 marked the beginning of our true closeness. We started spending more time together, sharing stories, exploring flavors through various culinary experiences, and helping each other with college projects. As time went on, that sense of comfort slowly transformed into genuine affection, an unplanned love, yet one that grew so deeply.
Building a Relationship
The decision to move beyond just being friends became a new chapter in our story. Eight years of being in a relationship is not a short time. Countless obstacles and challenges had to be faced. Yet, thanks to steadfast commitment and God’s extraordinary guidance, we managed to get through every season together through joys and sorrows alike.
Separation
There was a time when distance kept us apart for a long period. We had to live in different cities: Medan–Pematangsiantar, Jakarta–Medan, Aceh–Medan, Tebing Tinggi–Medan, and the most difficult of all, when for 2.5 years we were separated between Indonesia and Taiwan. On September 30, 2020, Engelica had to leave her homeland to pursue her Master’s degree in Taiwan, Formosa Country. That period became the hardest part of our relationship. Many things tried to shake us, but commitment always brought us back together, and God’s love sustained it all.
Marriage
The year 2025 marks a new chapter in our life story. With faith and confidence that this is the path God has prepared, we decided to seal our sacred vow in marriage, a promise to remain faithful and walk together through every season of life.
Sunaryo and Engelica are two souls whom God has guided and loved so wonderfully. We believe that the same hand of God that has united us will continue to be with us in every step ahead. May God bless our marriage and make it a channel of blessings.
